Vinyasa style of yoga emphasizes getting into the flow of asana (the postures) by corresponding breath to movement. Settling into the flow allows the fluctuations of the mind to settle as you unite (“yoga” means to yoke or unite) your mind and body. Less focused on perfecting alignment in each posture, vinyasa focuses instead on building internal heat through the breath as you flow from one pose to the next, providing space for more alignment in the postures to develop over time. Vinyasa taps into the comprehensive experience of yoga: bringing the mind, body, and soul together as one.
Note: April’s classes are heated to 76 degrees with the exception of Wednesday evenings.
