Alignment-based, Chair Yoga

Susan has been a movement teacher for more than twenty years, including dance/movement therapy with children and adults, authentic movement, Somatic Bodywork, flexibility training in body awareness with breath work, and senior water aerobics. She is currently working on her 500-hour teacher training Advanced Studies Program at The Yoga Room. The practice and study of Yoga (in a chair!) became an invaluable source for Susan's healing journey following a severe car accident in early 2018. She has been assisting Herta Weinstein with her 55+ Class at The Yoga Room since September 2018, where the chair is used as a respected extension of the floor and one's range of motion and flexibility. Susan's other life passion is her 10+ years work in dog rescue where these animals continually teach her humility, compassion, and the joy of living in the present. These values are shared in yoga, as she continually learns from her own practice. Susan's discovery of the emotional, spiritual, and physical gifts of yoga is due in large part to the teachings of Nancy Leigh Smith.
