Caryne dabbled in yoga as a compliment to her competitive running and cycling career and totally fell in love with it in 2007. She found the body/mind/breath connection yoga provides an intricate part of healing after the death of her father that year. She obtained her 200-hour RYT in 2010 at Cosmic Dog Studio and eventually pursued Yin teacher trainings. Always learning, Caryne became extremely interested in the healing power of restorative yoga and obtained her restorative level-one teacher certificate at Yoga Works in 2016. Caryne is currently pursuing her 300-hour teacher training at Downtown Yoga. Caryne says, "Yoga meets you wherever you are in life. I appreciate the Yang and dance aspect of a more vibrant Vinyasa/Flow practice, as I so love the focus, movement, and activity of it. I was a ballet dancer, then always an intense, competitive athlete. In our busy, and sometimes just plain hectic, present-day lives, however, it is important to unplug, and go deeper. The practices of both restorative and Yin yoga allow for that—not only to target deeper tissues in the body, but also to deeper inside oneself, and discover one's true essence; self. People do not give themselves the permission to slow down; release. It is only when their bodies and mind become so fatigued that they slow down because they have no choice—they become ill or worse. I am passionate about holding space for people so they feel completely supported and safe to completely unplug and recharge!" Off the mat, Caryne loves cycling with her husband, gardening, walking their Mini-Aussie, Ed, creating award-winning couture wearable art, sewing tutu for the ballet, and most importantly, being Mom of two exquisite children!
